Newborn Sessions Explained

Welcoming a new baby into this world is a beautiful time! Capturing those early days are so special! This post will give you tips on when to book, what session types I am currently offering including a NEW option, and an idea of what your session will look like.

First things first, when should you start planning your newborn session-the best time to book is at the beginning of your second trimester. We will then add you to our calendar and when your little one is born, we can arrange for the day that works best for you. Photos are best taken in the first 12-16 days after birth for my studio sessions. If you are doing a lifestyle session, baby can be a few days older.

My most popular session is the Full Session. This takes place in my beautiful studio space located in Papillion. You are able to select the colors of your choice, and I will style all the setups (approx. 5-7). Your newborn is gently arranged into unique props, such as mini-beds, baskets, bowls, etc. and swaddled in beautiful wraps. Parent/sibling shots are available and highly encouraged! A complimentary 6 month sitter milestone is also included. Here is a sample studio session with the precious Baby Penelope.

If you prefer a more casual, relaxed option, I offer a Lifestyle Session. This session is photographed in the comfort of your own home. These are guided family poses with candid-type shots around your family's home. I will provide a few wraps and simple props to include in the posed newborn photos. Here is a sample lifestyle session with the sweet Baby Bob.

I am now happy to offer my newest session type the Mini-Wrapped Session. This is the simplest session that includes a 1-hour slot at my studio, 3 setups and baby fully wrapped. These are individual baby poses only. This session is a great option for new parents wanting a few photos and to be in and out of the studio quickly. Here is an example of what a mini-wrapped session would look like with the adorable Baby Macie.

Once you have fully booked your chosen session, a What-To-Expect-Guide will be sent to you with all the details and tips to prepare for your upcoming session.
